Luheng Agriculture Technology Sdn Bhd representative Chow Khay Hoong said they had come up with a breakthrough formula using a concoction of herbs in place of antibiotics to prevent infectious diseases among chickens.

Last Updated: Friday 9th of July 2010 04:29:00 AM -0500CDTThe Government is creating a false shortage of chicken to import 3000 metric tons of chicken to the country, All Island Poultry Association Chairman Dr. D.D. Wanasinghe said yesterday.
"We know the demand for chicken is 8000 metric tons based on the Central Bank report figures but the Government says it is 12000 metric tons without any basis," Dr. Wanasinghe said.
According to him at a meeting held with the Minister of Livestock Development Arumugam Thondaman had said the government had assumed the demand to increase to 12000 metric tons in the upcoming festive season.
