17th European Symposium on Poultry Nutrition

2nd Meditteranean Poultry Summit

Details: On behalf of the Organising Committee and the Turkish branch of the WPSA, I would like to extend to you all a warm invitation to the 2nd Mediterranean Poultry Summit, which will be held in Antalya, Turkey from 4 to 7 October 2009.
After the success of the 1st Mediterranean Poultry Summit in Chalkidiki, Greece, it was decided to hold these meetings on a periodic basis. Thus we will have the honour of not only hosting this summit, but also the opportunity to cement it into a successful series that will provide an international forum for the discussion and exchange of ideas, on all aspects related to poultry in the Mediterranean region.
The Scientific Programme of the 2nd Mediterranean Poultry Summit will focus on the main issues currently related to poultry research and production in the Mediterranean countries to add to and improve knowledge in a world where information and innovations are spread rapidly.
The summit will take place at the Akka Antedon Deluxe Hotel in Beldibi, which is located 25km from Antalya. Antalya is the gateway to the Turkish Riviera, the most stunning part of Turkey’s Mediterranean coast, including more than a thousand kilometres of shoreline. The Turkish Riviera is strewn with historical sites and incredible scenery.
The social programmes will provide opportunities for the participants to interact with each other to exchange ideas and make new friendships.
We believe Antalya is a wonderful location for the 2nd Mediterranean Poultry Summit and has much to offer to the visitor.

21st Latin American Congress on Poultry Farming

Details: In August, 2006, we received with great pleasure the news that the Official Delegates of Latin American Association of Poultry Farming had chosen Havana, capital of our country, to be the venue of the 21st Latin American Congress on Poultry Farming, which would be held during October, 2009, with the slogan: Food Security: A Future Guarentee.
When the news arrived, Cuban poultry producers, were filled with pride and satisfaction. They are already inmersed, in their comittment, to generate the necessary products, to feed the island’s population, but now there’s a another one: to make hospitality an institution, in an event that in each edition, is achieving one of its greater purpose: to contribute to the increasing linkage of the Latin American Poultry Family, which becomes more necessary, in today’s world circumstances, wher the terms: brotherhood, solidarity and respect, are loosing their essence and meaning.
Because of the impact, in the contribution to the nourishment of our people, Latin American Poultry, today needs to defend more than ever, this type of gathering, not only as a means of exchange and promotion of scientific and technological developement, generated by this kind of activity and exhibit the achievements related to industry, but also as a way to consort new policies and strategies, that contribute to the strenghthening, protection and prepareness, to face the laws that rule today unjustly and disproportional world market, which at the end, make our national production very vulnerable, with serious affections and consequences.
Cuba, the largest island in the Caribbean, feels the joy of its poultry people, shared by all Cubans, so that all visitors will keep an unending memory, of their visit to our beautiful land. We are betting on our creativity and imagination, to make you feel at home and We state that knowledge, the interchanges of experiences, enjoymment and rest, won’t be left to fate.
I already feel the inmense pleasure, of expressing our most warm welcome, in the name of the Organizing Committee and my own.
